Primarily engineered in 2006 for offshore powerboat racing and the ultimate in dive watch engineering performance and design, the Edox CO-1 is a master beneath the fantastic world of waves. This extremely tough and durable Chrono Offshore-1 utilizes a newly engineered material much more resistant to scratches and general wear. It features a 45 mm carbon composite case made of ceramic layer forged in resin, strains of black carbon, and glass fibers, responsible for its distinctive gray color and texture. It holds a blue dial with a textured carbon fiber pattern under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and bordered by a uni-directional rotating carbon composite bezel. It has silver-tone and luminescent sword-skeleton hands, applied indices, dots, and an Arabic numeral 1 as hour markers. Three subdials display 60 seconds, 12 hours, and 30 minutes. The day/date aperture sits at the 3 o'clock position. The screw-down crown flanked with screw-down pushers are coated with black PVD operates the time, calendar, and chronograph functions. This watch is equipped with a black rubber strap and secured by a black PVD-coated adjustable folding clasp with push-button release. This watch has a screw-down exhibition caseback showcasing the Sellita-based Caliber 011, a Swiss automatic chronograph movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, generating up to 48 hours of power reserve and is water-resistant up to 500 meters/1650 feet.
