It was manufactured in Yverdon, Switzerland by Paillard S.A.  The machine is known for its smooth typing experience and has a distinctive "bulbous' shape.  The typewriter is a segment-shifted machine and comes with a fitted hard-shell removable cover.  With its "buttery" typing action, it is often considered on of the finest manual typewriters every produced.  The model is celebrated for its Swiss precision engineering, integrated carrying case and advanced features for its time, such as visible margins on the paper table.

It has been nicknamed the "Rolls-Royce of Typewriters" due to its exceptional build quality and reliability.
