ANTIQUE 1920S ASSUIT GARMENT WITH LEG OPENINGS

These Egyptian garments were made at the turn of the century into the 1920’s, in Assuit Egypt. Completely done in low grade silver foil wrapped and folded onto the base of the white mesh cotton netting with bands of geometric designs. This garment has striking diamond shape design elements found in front and its back. The silver foil is wrapped around the threads of the mesh fabric to achieve a wonderful geometric design.

This one is a fabulous example as it is very long and wide with very heavy silver work thru out giving the garment a marvelous drape and glamorous dazzle!

This garment has two leg openings found at bottom of garment with gathering of material 15 inches above leg opening. Also included is a gray satin full under slip leggings, and a beaded headband not from the time period of the outfit.
