Installation Steps Of Alternator
1.Preparations:
① Turn off the engine, disconnect the negative battery terminal and clean the engine compartment.
② Prepare tools: socket wrench, torque wrench, belt tensioner tool.
③ Mark the wiring connectors and belt routing of the original alternator.
2.Remove the Old Alternator:
① Loosen the drive belt with a tensioner tool and remove the belt from the pulley of the old alternator.
② Unplug the electrical connector and remove the battery power cord from the B+ terminal.
③ Loosen and remove the fixing bolts, take off the old alternator, and clean dust and oil from the mounting position.
3.Install the New Alternator:
① Place the new alternator into the mounting bracket, align the holes, and screw in the main fixing bolts (leave 1-2 turns loose for belt adjustment).
② Route the belt back to the alternator pulley as marked, tension the belt with a tensioner.
③ Tighten the adjustment bracket bolts → main fixing bolts in sequence and lock them to the standard torque of the vehicle manual.
④ Reconnect and tighten the power cord on the B+ terminal, and plug in the electrical connector until a "click" is heard to confirm locking.
4 Power-On Test and Finishing:
① Reconnect the negative battery terminal and start the engine to idle for 3-5 minutes.
② Inspection: the pulley runs without jamming or abnormal noise, and the alternator has no oil leakage/peculiar smell.
③ Turn on high-power electrical appliances such as air conditioners and car lights to test stable power supply without belt slipping "squeak".
④ Clean up tools and reset the engine compartment guard plate/clips.
General Protection
1.Avoid colliding with the alternator bearing and wiring connector during installation to prevent component damage.
2.The alternator is a precision electrical component, do not rinse it directly with water to prevent internal water intake and short circuit.
3.If there is rust on the mounting position, a small amount of high-temperature resistant threadlocker can be applied after light sanding to prevent bolts from loosening due to vehicle vibration.
