The IQ Panel 4, now available from Qolsys includes a Verizon LTE communicator, and a dual-band WIFI card. For security sensors, it supports PowerG 915 MHz and Honeywell/2GIG Legacy 345 MHz devices. It has a 7" capacitive glass multi-touch touchscreen and supports 128 zones, and 242 users.

A 7" touchscreen has become the norm for wireless All-in-One (AiO) systems. Currently, the User Interface (UI) for the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is the same as the IQ Panel 2 and 2 Plus, but Qolsys is introducing an updated UI later in the year. Users can try out the new look and those who prefer the original layout can switch back to it, while those who prefer the updated look can choose to keep it. The new layout will more closely resemble what a user sees in the Alarm.com app. This ties the two interfaces more closely together to improve the user experience.

The centerpiece of the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 is a Qualcomm MSM8953 chipset with an 8-core Qualcomm SnapDragon Processor. It has 16 GB of NAND Flash memory. The base operating system is Android 9. As a comparison, the IQ Panel 2 and 2 Plus were based on Android 5.1 with a quad-core processor. These updates in hardware and software for the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 means that it has a lot of room for expansion, with the hardware and software to support it. Much like with cell phones, updated hardware supports updated software and new features. So expect plenty of updates to this system, based around customer feedback.
