📖 Product Description
Up for your consideration is a rare, authenticated antique Chinese Longquan celadon brush washer dating to the Ming Dynasty. Measuring a delicate 4.75 inches in diameter, this classical scholar's object features a thick, robustly potted body layered in a lustrous, glassy sea-green glaze that thins elegantly near the rim and pools beautifully inside the well.
The center of the wash is crisp and intentionally stamped with the auspicious character "Le" (樂 / 乐), signifying joy or good fortune. The underside reveals the hallmark unglazed foot ring with characteristic orange-red iron burn spots left by the kiln support firing process. A stunning, tactile piece of historic Chinese monochrome ceramic art perfect for any advanced pottery collection.
