“ Scholar in an Interior "

A very very interesting 18th Century German oil on copper panel which depicts a scholar in an interior with a clock on the table. The clock happens to be a real mechanical clock and has its mechanism exposed on the reverse - marked for a horologist in Konigsberg in Germany which is now Kaliningrad. A very unusual piece which dates to the 18th century and is in very nice condition for age. We havent been able to wind the clock and test it but it likely will work.
