This is a 1.63 cts natural “strawberry” pink sapphire, originally sourced from Madagascar. We call it the “jolly rancher” because of its obvious resemblance to the strawberry candy. This loose, transparent gemstone is cut in an oval shape and measures 7.3mm in length, 6.3mm in width, and 3.9mm in depth. It has what is considered a “very good” cut grade making it perfect for jewelry and watch making. There is evidence to suggest this sapphire has been heated to give it, its vibrant pink hues. In terms of clarity, this sapphire is in heavily included range. These internal inclusions give this sapphire its own unique profile and make this gem a true one-of-a-kind.
