Kid Icarus: Uprising, know as New Light Mythology: Palutena's Mirror in Japan, was the first Kid Icarus title in more than 15 years with the previous release launching in 1991. At the helm of this Nintendo 3DS game is Masahiro Sakurai, who was tasked with bringing Kid Icarus to a new generation. To do this, his team made this iteration a retelling of the Kid Icarus story rather than a sequel. The hero, Pit, who is a servant of the Goddess of Light Palutena, must defeat Medusa and her hordes before they can capture the goddess. The campaign also adds new elements, such as Pit fighting the dark force behind Medusa's resurrection and a doppelganger of himself called Dark Pit. If you're never played the previous Kid Icarus games, you'll be able to follow the story easily. While previous games in the Kid Icarus series were 2-D platformers, Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS is a third-person shooter. Pit will fight in both the air and on the ground in this action game. In the air, Pit has no control over where he flies. Your only job is to blast all the enemies out of the sky before they hit you.
