Champion Blower & Forge Company was founded in 1877, and began using the Champion name in 1881. By the end of the century, the company had become the largest American manufacturer of forges and blowers for blacksmith work. An 1889 catalog comprising 36 pages was reprinted by Doug Fruend in his 2001 A Blacksmith’s & Hammerman’s Emporium. Obviously, by 1940, Champion’s product line had greatly expanded.
