Frenesi's popular album “Märchen,” long out of print, is finally back in stock with unchanged specifications and a price adjustment!
At age 8, he could only produce a whisper. During his student years, he composed over 50 songs under the name naphthalinesquall. Later adopting the solo moniker frenesi, he released the mini-album ‘Landmark Theater’ via bambini records. He also released the album ‘blueno’ under the name blueno with Hammond organist Kawai Yosuke. It became an unusually successful hit for an indie release. Since then, he has composed numerous songs described as “hardcore even when whispered,” handling diverse arrangements himself. He performs live primarily in Tokyo and has won multiple awards on the music site Musictree, founded by Ryuichi Sakamoto, including the LiveBrain Award and ONKYO Award.
In June 2009, he released his first full album “Cupra” under the name “Frenesi” through Otome Ongaku Kenkyusha. He produced every aspect of the work himself, from the arrangements and jacket art to the PV animation “Mirai Tantei Frenesi”. He released his 2nd album “Meruhen” in September 2010, his 3rd album ‘Gendai’ in September 2012, and his 4th album “Dorufino” in 2013. In April 2014, she formed the creators unit “xxx of WONDER” with Shiho Nanba, Dr. Usui (MOTOCOMPO, (M)otocompo), Meru Kishida, and Julie Watai. In February 2014, “Fukumen Chosa-in” was remixed by the American music unit Machine Girl, leading to a rapid increase in overseas fans.
On December 27, 2014, she indefinitely suspended live performances and music production activities following the “Frenesi Academy Legendary Closing Ceremony” at the Densho Hall, Yamada Cultural Center, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.
In 2019, while on hiatus, she contributed the original song “Anachron Girl” (lyrics and composition) to SOLEIL's 3rd album ‘LOLLIPOP SIXTEEN’. On July 7, 2020, streaming distribution began for the four albums released by Otome Ongaku Kenkyusha.
Around 2020, Frenesi's work “Cupra” began appearing in top rankings on overseas music fan sites as an album representing Japan. She was also described by core Japanese music fans as “the Björk of Shibuya-kei.”
Following the start of streaming distribution in 2020, Frenesi's works gained popularity across various SNS platforms as charming background music. Particularly on TikTok, over 60,000 user videos (as of 2025) featured “Latency Girl” as BGM, demonstrating widespread appeal among younger generations. In 2025, she released the new song “Don't Exorcise Me” digitally after a long hiatus and released a limited-edition LP record of her debut album “Cupra”.
