Large natural Fanta ( spessartite) garnet cabochon originating from Mozambique. This weighs 10.35 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 13.4 x 9.9 x 7.4 mm.

There are other types of orange garnet, but there is only one spessartite garnet, considered to be the most valuable and desired of all orange garnets. These are sometimes referred to as orange Mandarin or Fanta Garnets.

Spessartite is one of the very few stones that are known to have a true orange coloring, and this piece is no exception. This is also a considerably sizable piece and would make a nice statement ring or larger piece of jewelry. One of the notable visual effects of the piece is the internal glow and "fire" within the surface, as best seen in the supplied video.

The gem is fully transparent and has extremely good very good clarity. There are no major flaws but does have some slight natural inclusions as typical with natural cabochons. This can be considered near eye clean or SI clarity.
