What is a carrier bearing and do you need one?
A carrier bearing changes the height of your rear driveline to get it up on top of the links and out of obstacles way, for more under belly clearance and less hangups.

You may need one if you run links longer than gladiator length (78mm) in the rear, or if your driveshaft sits below your high-clearance links.
