Peter Fenelon Collier, publisher.  nd; however, thought to be circa 1890s or 1900 [publishing year gleaned from other sources].

      The volumes in this antiquarian hardcover set feature:  gilt top edges; gilt lettering on tooled spines; a tissue guarded, full-page frontispiece; two-toned color endpapers; interior pen&ink illustrations; red corners and spine over blue boards binding; and quality paper.  Dimensions: 8¼” x 6”.

      Overall Condition:  About  of the volumes are Near Fine, and the balance may be considered Very Good to Good.  Signs of age (and a bit of damage) appear primarily at the upper spine extremities in ~ ½ to ⅔ of the volumes, and to a lesser degree at the spine's bottom edge where ends are not significantly damaged, but rubbed.  Bindings are sound and square. Most corners are scuffed.  Interiors are clean and unmarked; no signatures; no bookplates; no writing.  The pages are without ceases or tears.  While the 30 volumes are in similar condition, there are occasional flaws as follows:

--  some endpapers have taken on a dark tone;

--  foxing may be seen in some locations, primarily on the frontispiece, tissue guard and title page of a some volumes;

--  Volume 9:  the leading edge of the binding is askew;

--  Volume 10: foxing on pp. 353-357

     Provenance:  This conscientiously looked after collection has had a continuous ownership, passing down from one generation to the next of a single California family.

     Due to its weight, this set of books will ship in two boxes.
