Rare Original Odhner Pinwheel Calculator – Early Mechanical Model

A magnificent and fully operational Original Odhner pinwheel calculator from the early 20th century, built in heavy cast metal with authentic brass pinwheel mechanisms and enamelled registers. This is one of the iconic machines that shaped early mechanical computation and carries both the Göteborg maker’s plate and the Wien I retailer plate, adding real provenance and documentary value.

The machine presents a striking industrial aesthetic with deep, honest patina. The crank turns smoothly, the carriage aligns and moves correctly, the pinwheels engage properly, and the registers reset sharply. As shown in the photos, the calculator performs calculations exactly as intended.

Condition note: the left-side registry lever is broken. It relates only to registry selection and does not affect the machine’s ability to count. It can be glued or repaired if desired, but the machine itself remains mechanically functional. Because of this, the price is reduced. All other mechanisms operate normally, and the originality is fully preserved.

This is an exceptional piece for collectors, designers, photographers, film studios, vintage offices or as a statement interior object. Its sculptural presence and engineering heritage make it a truly impressive item.
