Good Quality 19th Century Sterling Silver Ornate Trumpet Pocket Watch Key 5.9g

This excellent quality pocket watch key is estimated to date to around 1870s through 1880s. It is unmarked; tests confirm that it is a minimum of 925/1000 for its sterling silver fineness; note that only the inner barrel lining is base metal and not silver.

The watch key has a swivelling fixed bale and integral jump ring at the mid-point. It has an ornate trumpet shaped, tapering barrel with four panels flaring at the top. This has a round bezel set with a bright orange citrine. The other end has an aperture to fit onto the square profile winding and time adjusting pinions. Note we can’t measure the hole size accurately; it has not been tested to see if the inner sides have been rounded smooth.
