Plane Prototype History:
SR-71 Blackbird Airplane Is A Long-Range, High-Altitude, And High-Speed Strategic Reconnaissance Aircraft Of The United States Air Force. SR-71 Blackbird Airplane Adopted A Large Number Of Advanced Technologies At That Time, Including Titanium Structure, Turbojet/Ramjet Variable Cycle Engine, Which Still Remained Progressiveness. The SR-71 Blackbird Airplane Began Development In 1963 And Was Produced By For Lockheed' S Skunk Works. It Made Its Maiden Flight In 1964 And Entered Service In 1966, With A Total Of 32 Aircraft Produced. Retired In 1990, Some SR-71s Were Incorporated Back Into The Military In 1995 And Began Flight Missions In 1997. They Were Permanently Retired In 1998 And Some Were Displayed In Museums. Only One SR-71A And One SR-71B Were Used For Research Purposes At NASA' S Dryden Flight Research Center The SR-71 Reconnaissance Aircraft Was Once The Fastest Manned Aircraft In The World And Held Two Records: On July 28, 1976, An SR-71 Set A Speed Record Of 3529.56 Kilometers Per Hour And An Altitude Record Of 25929 Meters. Only The Former Soviet Mig-25 Foxbat High-Altitude Interceptor Had Reached A Higher Altitude Of 37650 Meters On August 31, 1977. It Can Scan The Earth' S Surface At An Altitude Of 24 Kilometers And A Speed Of 72 Square Kilometers Per Second. When The SR-71 Was Retired In 1998, One Of Its Planes Flew From The Us Air Force Plant 42 In Palmdale, California, Where It Was Born, At An Average Speed Of 3418 Kilometers Per Hour To Be Displayed At The National Aeronautical Museum In Chantilly, Virginia, In Just 68 Minutes. The SR-71 Also Holds The Record Set On September 1, 1974, For Traveling From New York To London: 1 Hour, 54 Minutes, And 56.4 Seconds (A Regular Aircraft Takes 3 Hours And 20 Minutes To Travel The Same Distance, While The Fastest Subsonic Large Passenger Aircraft, The Boeing 747, Takes 7 Hours) The Extremely High Cost Of Using The Sr-71 Reconnaissance Aircraft Is One Of The Main Reasons For Its Retirement. In The Mission Readiness Request Report Submitted By The Us Air Force, A Budget Of $39 Million Per Month Was Proposed For Two SR-71A Aircraft To Be Put Back Into Service, Calculated At A Rate Of 30 Days Per Month. Moreover, The Us Air Force Also Plans To Modernize It, Such As Improving Its Reconnaissance Equipment And Radar Systems, Equipping It With Satellite Global Positioning Systems, Etc., Which Require Significant Investment, So The Us Congress Did Not Approve These Investment Plans. However, Even If The SR-71 Is Fully Retired, It Has Become A "Blackbird" Of Nasa'S Flight Test Aircraft And Will Still Serve Beyond Its Lifespan On The Scientific Research Front. The SR-71 Reconnaissance Aircraft Has Reached An Altitude Of 30000 Meters And A Maximum Speed Of 3.5 Times The Speed Of Sound. Therefore, The SR-71 Flies Higher And Faster Than Most Existing Fighter Jets And Anti-Aircraft Missiles, And Has Never Been Subjected To Any Substantial Threat. The SR-71 Reconnaissance Aircraft Was Not Completely Hit, Mainly Because It Could Conduct High-Altitude Reconnaissance Flights At Speeds Of 2800-3200 Kilometers Per Hour. At That Time, The Most Advanced CA-75M Air Defense Missile System Of The Vietnamese Military Could Only Guarantee Attack Efficiency Against Targets With Speeds Below 2000 Kilometers Per Hour. Although This Air Defense Missile System Has Undergone Necessary Modifications And Improved Various Combat Capabilities, The Combat Effectiveness Of The Improved System Has Sharply Increased, And It Can Now Destroy High-Altitude And High-Speed Targets Similar To The "Blackbird" Performance. However, The War Has Ended, And They Have Lost The Opportunity To Prove Themselves And The Place To Use Force, Thus Fulfilling The Myth Of The "Blackbird" Not Being Shot Down
