Description

This beautiful silk scarf with a twill weave and hand rolled edges was originally designed by Hugo Grygkar for Hermes in 1959 and it was never re-issued according to the Hermes Dictionary. (See last picture).
It is called "les insectes".
The design is defined on an ivory honeycomb background with Grey edges and it represents a large variety of summer bugs such as lady bugs, bees, flies, dragon flies, ants and beetles.
It is a beautiful spring or summer scarf to dress up an outfit on fresh evenings.
The Hermes name and "Paris" appear in one of the Grey edges.
It is well preserved in terms of silk and colors.
It has no holes or pulled threads, but it has some pale red spots most likely caused by the lady bugs' dye bleeding on the background.   Perfect for framing.
It measures 33 inches by 34 1/2 inches or 84 cm by 88 cm.
