About this series: Since I'm painting this series on 4x4 inch substrate, I decided to call the series The Squares. Each little square will be numbered, and sold separately. 

According to Wikipedia, square is slang for "a person who is conventional and old-fashioned, similar to a fuddy-duddy. Older senses of the term square, refer to someone or something honest and upstanding, and date back to the 16th century." You can take your pick of which definition is correct for this portrait.
