First Day Cover postmarked April 20, 1960 – Ottawa, Ontario, commemorating the Golden Jubilee (1910–1960) of the Girl Guides Association of Canada (Association des Guides du Canada).
The 5¢ commemorative stamp, designed by Helen Fitzgerald, features the iconic three-lobed trefoil badge with gold-lettering, symbolizing service and preparedness. The illustrated cachet—a hand-drawn portrait of a Girl Guide in blue and orange—was printed in three colors with additional details finished by hand.
Issued to celebrate fifty years since the founding of the Girl Guides by Lord Baden-Powell in 1909 and its expansion to Canada under Mrs. A. H. Malcolmson, this historic cover reflects the international spirit of the Guiding movement.
Clean, well-preserved example with sharp postmark and bold cachet. An attractive mid-century commemorative for collectors of Scouts, Guides, or Commonwealth philately- especially those celebrating a birthday on April 20th or a 1960 birthyear.
