CW shortwave broadcasting stations are precisely synchronized across 18 fixed locations worldwide. Each station transmits a 10-second sequence of characters every three minutes. First, it sends its call sign, followed by four one-second signals at power levels of 100 W, 10 W, 1 W, and 100 mW, respectively. After each transmission, the station switches to the next higher frequency band. These stations operate on five fixed frequencies: 14.100 MHz, 18.110 MHz, 21.150 MHz, 24.930 MHz, and 28.200 MHz. The entire cycle then repeats.

To easily determine which station is being received at any given moment while listening to the radio band, the KT-003AB device from KRAIT Technologies provides a convenient solution. The system includes a built-in GPS module that, once properly synchronized (indicated by the SYNC LED), identifies which station (beacon) is currently transmitting its signal. This is shown by one of eighteen red LEDs located on an elegant panel featuring a world map. Additionally, the panel includes a list of stations and their corresponding locations for easier identification of the received signal.

The CTRL button allows you to switch between five frequencies. The currently selected frequency is indicated by a green LED.

The system has the functionality of the RTC (Real Time Clock) module. In the event of loss of GPS coverage, the system switches to internal timing. This allows you to continue using the KT-003A system where there is no current access to GPS satellites or it is difficult.

The system has a power switch that allows you to easily turn off the system without disconnecting the power cable or removing the battery.

The system can be supplied with voltage in the range of 9,0...16 VDC. The current draw is 70 mA at 9 VDC.

The described kit is a refreshed version of the "MJF-890, Atomic DX Beacon Monitor" from MFJ at a much lower price. The use of a GPS receiver (instead of DCF or similar systems) enables much easier synchronization - in practice, the system is ready for operation in less than a minute.

Included:
- assembled and ready-to-use device as shown in the photo, built into a wooden housing (laser cut plywood, 3 mm thick)

You can find the kit version available in another auction.
