A super sized 6 7/8 inch tall wide square amber-colored antique bottle that originally came filled with OPIUM LOZENGES. This bottle is EMPTY it has NO contents. This is a RARE bottle to find in that it still retains its original FULL LABELs down the front, and still RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL TIN CAP. The paper label identifies the contents as BROWN MIXTURE and that each LOZENGE contained POWDERED OPIUM; see close up pictures of the label for this. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a GROUND top, dating it all the way back to the 1800's.

Bottle's label mentions: "COMPRESSED LOZENGES ... Brown Mixture and Ammon. Chloride 20 Grains ... POWDERED OPIUM 1-25 GR ... H.K. MULFORD CO. CHEMISTS".
Condition: This LARGE bottle is in solid clean condition, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The labels have age wear, but are ENTIRELY legible. PLEASE SEE pictures for overall idea of the bottle AND the paper labels' condition/appearance.
Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a ground-top, ca. late 1800's.

This is a hard-to-find bottle with POWDERED OPIUM listed on the label, ESPECIALLY in this large size! The directions are for ... "1 lozenge dissolved on the tongue as often as necessary", not good directions for something that is as habit forming as OPIUM!
