Description:
This is an authentic vintage Japanese Geta sandal (下駄) — a traditional wooden shoe once worn with kimono and yukata. Crafted from solid wood and finished in vibrant red and black lacquer, this piece showcases Japan’s classic post-war craftsmanship.
The underside bears a metal seal stamped “商標登録” (Shōhyō Tōroku), which translates to “Registered Trademark.”
This mark indicates that it was produced by a certified artisan or factory, most likely between the 1940's - 1950's during Japan’s mid-century export era.
It features a woven fabric hanao strap in cream with red and green accents, still firmly attached and in beautiful vintage condition. While originally worn as footwear, single geta like this are now highly sought-after as decorative cultural artifacts or conversation pieces.
