This details Laurie Carew's career as a window dresser, starting at the iconic Melbourne department store Georges.  Carew was one of Australia's top window dressers, and spent nearly thirty years behind glass in the country's most glamorous department store, Georges of Collins Street, Melbourne.

His job as 'Visual Merchandise Manager', made him responsible for the magic that turned the store into an irresistible world of luxury and elegance. In 1995, after over a century of trading, Georges closed its doors, and many Melburnians still mourn its loss.

Diane Masters, one of Georges' fashion models from the 1950s and shares memories of the age when a really beautiful hat could give a woman all the confidence she needed to face the world.
