POST WAR 1940s Vintage BLACK CHIFFON & SILK PRINT SHEATH COCKTAIL DRESS - S

Beautiful vintage late 1940s / early 1950s  fitted sheath dress   made of a combination of fabrics - a sheer black chiffon, plush black velvet and a striking floral silk or silk blend fabric (I think it is silk but there are no labels).   The cap sleeved dress has a tailored bodice with a sheer black illusion yoke, black velvet accent above the bust with a large front bow and a tailored sheath cut with a knee length hem.  Amazingly, the skirt has two hidden side pockets (how I love a dress with pockets!).  The dress has a partial lining (the bodice only) of a lightweight black cotton blend fabric and closes at the back with a metal zipper.  

MEASUREMENTS:    No  labels  ... Bust measures 34 inches (therefore fits a size 32  bust best), the  waist measures 27.5 inches and the hips are 38 inches (always remember to leave room for you - there is no stretch to the fabric).  The dress is 41.5 inches in length.

CONDITION:  Very slight wear ... overall, excellent condition.

All of my items are vintage and therefore will have some minimal signs of wear consistent with their age (example - a loose thread).  I describe my items as honestly and accurately as possible with both text and pictures - clearly noting any known larger imperfections (holes, stains, missing buttons, etc).  If I have missed something, I apologize - please let me know and I will do my best to fix the issue.  But please remember I am a human being.  My preloved items have been freshly laundered unless otherwise noted in the description.
