When you're shooting at distance or holding over between targets, precision matters.

The Taurus (also known as Tauron) Gen II 4‑32×56 delivers long-range performance with a true FFP (First Focal Plane) reticle, ED glass for sharper contrast, and a rock-solid 34 mm tube system for maximum adjustment range and stability.

Glass & Mag
  • Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass ensures exceptional image resolution
  • Fully multi-coated lens enhances light transmission, giving you bright and clear visuals even in challenging lighting conditions.
  • Magnification range of 4-32x, combined with a 56mm objective lens and a first focal plane reticle, ensuring the reticle scale remains accurate across all magnifications.
  • Linear field of view ranges from 30.8 to 3.85 feet at 100 yards (10.3 to 1.28 metres at 100 metres), with an angular field of view spanning from 5.88° to 0.73°.

Reticle
  • Etched glass VTA-5 MIL reticle, specifically designed for distance measurement and bullet drop compensation
  • Helps to enhance accuracy over long distances.
  • Note - Not illuminated

Adjujstment
  • 1/10 MIL adjustments engineered to provide audible clicks, meticulous calibration.
  • Zero Stop function enabling return to a pre-set zero point without the need for additional adjustments, ensuring reliability and ease of use in the field.
  • 100 clicks per round, elevation adjustment range of 28 MIL and a windage adjustment range of 16 MIL

Build
  • Constructed from durable 6061 T6 aluminium alloy, the Taurus scope is built to withstand harsh conditions
  • IP67 waterproofing and nitrogen-filled for fog proofing.

FAQs

Q1: What is First Focal Plane (FFP), and why does it matter?
FFP scopes scale the reticle with the magnification—so the spacing between mil dots or hash marks stays accurate at any zoom level. This means your holdovers, range estimations, and wind calls are always correct, whether you're on 6× or 26×. Ideal for precision work and dynamic environments.

Q2: FFP vs SFP – what’s the difference?

  • FFP (First Focal Plane): Reticle size changes with zoom; subtensions stay accurate.

  • SFP (Second Focal Plane): Reticle stays fixed in size; subtensions are only correct at one magnification (usually max).
FFP is better for long-range shooters, dynamic range work, or anyone using reticle holds rather than just dialling.

Q3: Does the ED glass make a difference?
Yes. ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass reduces colour fringing and improves clarity at high magnification—especially around bright or high-contrast targets. It gives you a flatter, sharper image edge-to-edge.

Q4: Is it suitable for airguns, centrefires, or rimfires?
All of the above. It's shockproof up to 1000 G and can handle recoil from anything up to full-bore rifles. Just be aware of its size and weight—make sure your mounts and rail are up to the task.

Q5: Will it clear my rifle with standard rings?
With a 56 mm objective, you'll typically want high or extra-high rings, depending on your rail height and barrel profile. Always measure the outer diameter of the scope housing, not just the lens.

Q6: Who is this scope ideal for?

  • Long-range shooters who rely on reticle holds

  • Hunters in variable terrain where zoom needs to change quickly

  • Benchrest and prone shooters looking for consistency and clarity

  • Anyone wanting a robust, no-nonsense FFP optic with real performance

🔍 Should I Choose FFP or SFP?

Choosing between First Focal Plane (FFP) and Second Focal Plane (SFP) depends on how you shoot and what matters most to you.

🔧 Feature   FFP (First Focal Plane)SFP (Second Focal Plane)

Reticle size   Changes with magnification   Stays the same at all magnification levels

Subtension accuracy

Always accurate – at any zoom level   Only accurate at one zoom setting (usually max)
Best forLong range, reticle holdovers, target ranging   General use, set-and-forget shooting

Learning curveSlightly steeper – reticle can appear fine at low zoom

More intuitive at first – consistent reticle appearance
Ideal userTactical, precision, dynamic range shooters    Hunters, plinkers, airgun users, casual target shooters

🧠 Still unsure?

  • Choose FFP if you adjust magnification often, use holdover marks, or shoot at varied distances

  • Choose SFP if you mostly shoot at one magnification, or prefer a consistent-looking reticle at all times
