1 rhizome - trimmed back
The deep chestnut brown to burgundy-black foliage has a satin-like sheen and the intense color holds during the summer heat. The foliage rises to 4-5 feet and is topped with a magnificent display of large, ruffled red flowers.
Feuerzauber ~~ Fire Magic ~~ indeed!
Cannas are winter hardy in zones 7 and above. In cooler climates,
cut off the foliage and dig up the rhizomes in the Fall
after the plants have been blackened by frost, shaking
off the soil. Store them in barely dampened peat moss or
shredded newspaper in a frost-proof place (basement or
garage). They can be planted out as soon as the ground
has warmed in the spring.
