APOLLOSPACE® presents

APOLLO 11 BUZZ ALDRIN SIGNED COVER WITH APOLLO 11 SPACE FLOWN KAPTON FOIL

Item Description: Apollo 11 Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin signed Apollo 11 "Artopages" Moon Flight cover, postmarked July 20, 1974 -the 5th anniversary of the first lunar landing.  The accompanying Apollo 11 Buzz Aldrin signed cover, marked on the reverse as A11 SE1 No. 6 of 11 SE #1 (Signed Edition #1), has affixed to it a remnant piece of Apollo 11 flown Kapton Foil that was originally part of the protective insulation of the Apollo 11 Command Module, “Columbia,” and was flown in space to the moon from July 16-24, 1969. The Kapton from which the attached remnant was cut was originally from the personal collection of NASA Production Control Engineer William Whipkey (see accompanying letter of authenticity from Sandy Clarkson of “The Right Stuff Space”) and subsequently purchased by APOLLOSPACE.

The Kapton foil originally consisted of six (6) remnants, as seen in the images. The 3 smaller pieces marked as Remnants 1-3 in the image were cut and separated into 11 remnants with each measuring a minimum of approximately ¼- inch long, which were then attached to 11 Buzz Aldrin signed vintage Apollo 11 event or First Day covers, marked as Nos. 1-11 (A11-SE #1). The remnant Kapton Foil pieces affixed to the signed covers are one of the 11 rectangular pieces seen in the images.

Each of the eleven covers from this Series is accompanied by an APOLLOSPACE Letter of Authenticity and copies of documentation showing provenance.

Why Buy APOLLOSPACE® Autographs?
Unfortunately, there are a lot of fakes, forgeries, facsimiles, autopens, and pre-prints flooding the market with too many unscrupulous "dealers" taking advantage of unsuspecting and uninformed collectors.  As the Managing Member and principal owner of APOLLOSPACE, LLC I have over 30 years of experience buying, selling, and authenticating astronaut autographs and memorabilia.  With my knowledge, experience, and expertise regarding Apollo era astronaut autographs, the APOLLOSPACE® Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity, and our 100% eBay rating, you can bid with confidence and no risk!  You can return for any reason within 60 days if not satisfied and with no time limit regarding authenticity.

I first started selling astronaut autographs on eBay in 1996 - within eBay's first year of operation (when it was still known as "AuctionWeb" and had only tens of thousands of users!).

I founded, and was the first moderator of, one of the first online space community discussion groups devoted to astronaut autographs, "astronauts" on Yahoo Groups, with hundreds of active members and thousands of messages exchanged monthly at its peak.

What you see is exactly what you get!

Each unique item is presented with clear images of the exact item you will receive.  If we have multiple copies of similarly signed items, each item is listed individually - we don't use "stock images" or tell you that you will receive an item "similar" to the one pictured.  Each autographed item is unique and identified by a unique number.  You deserve to know exactly what you are getting without having to wonder what the actual item you receive will look like.  Every autographed item has been examined thoroughly by me and every effort made to accurately describe its condition.  Each autographed item is accompanied by the APOLLOSPACE® Certificate of Authenticity pursuant to our Lifetime Guarantee Return Policy, describing and picturing the exact item, embossed with our company seal and personally signed by me. Autographed items are shipped either boxed or reinforced with stiff cardboard and/or plastic to protect your investment.

Please note that the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) shown here is a sample only, as it is cost and time prohibitive to individually scan each COA with its respective item, but winning bidders will receive an item specific COA with each item won.
