PRODUCT DETAILS:
This upper main bearing is designed for Johnson and Evinrude E-TEC direct injection outboard motors in 2-cylinder and 3-cylinder configurations from 40 through 90 HP produced between 2004 and 2016. The E-TEC engine platform was BRP's advanced 2-stroke direct injection technology that delivered improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced maintenance compared to conventional 2-stroke outboards. This bearing fits the 2-cylinder E-TEC models in 40, 50, 55, 60, and 65 HP as well as the 3-cylinder E-TEC models in 75 and 90 HP, all sharing the 3.600 bore specification. The upper main bearing supports the crankshaft at the top of the powerhead and must handle the radial loads from crankshaft rotation during engine operation. A worn upper main bearing causes engine noise, crankshaft misalignment, power loss, and can lead to powerhead damage if not replaced during rebuild. The E-TEC engine line won multiple Innovation Awards and was known for its reliability and clean-burning operation in the marine industry.
