Natural red spinel gemstone originating from Myanmar (Burma). This weighs 1.20 CTS and has been cut and faceted into a pear shape. The measurements are approximately 7.9 x 5.4 x 3.4 mm.

The coloring of the stone is a deep true red. These types of spinel are someone's referred to as spinel ruby or balas ruby, although this is not actually in the ruby family of gemstones. The stone has a strong internal luminosity and a shimmering effect as best seen in the supplied video. Intense shades of this stone are also sometimes called red Jedi spinel.

The gem is fully transparent and has good but not perfect clarity. There is some visible natural inclusions within the surface, but would not be overly visible due to the size of the piece. This can be considered similar to an I1 clarity.
