- The leather we use is all ethically sourced meaning the animals were not killed for the leather, it is a bi-product of the meat industry, and is custom made in a family owned Haitian tannery. This Tannery provides more than 100 local jobs!
- True genuine leather isn't perfect, and as a matter of fact, its imperfections is what gives the deux mains collection the uniquely beautiful look that fits our thoughtful clients' needs.
- Genuine, naturally made leather will always have markings such as dents, scars, scratches, wrinkles or blemishes.
- Much of the leather we use is vegetable tanned, meaning that it’s all natural, and processed with wood tannin and vegetable matter. This type of leather takes five times longer to process than chemically processed leather, and is truly one of a kind. The leather is not altered with any finishing dyes or processes, and therefore highlights the leathers’ natural state with all of the perfect imperfections on the surface.
- Similarly, to the tires and innertube we use, no two leather skins are the same. Because of fluctuations in color and markings, every single product that comes off our production line at deux mains is unique. Each tells a different story, and should be treasured for it’s and authenticity.
