1943 Press Photo Map showing Allied forces invasion routes on island of Sicily
This is an original press photo. Arrows indicated Allied drives along the advancing front (black line) in Sicily. British were reported near Catania on the night of July 17, having captured Lentini and Scordia. Canadians tok Caltagirone in the central second, and Americans were reported striking far north and west of that point and to be fighting to broaden their hold on the south coast Photo measures 8.75 x 6.75 inches. Photo is dated 07-17-1943.
