Our process for vinyl LPs:

Use a specially made cardboard LP mailer
(Unsealed records) Remove vinyl & inner sleeve from outer jacket and place next to jacket.
Place everything inside a protective outer sleeve
Sandwich between 2 cardboard fillers and possibly bubble-wrap depending on the situation and fit
