Compiled over a period of seven years by nearly four hundred researchers, this volume acts as the definitive reference work on furniture makers of any nationality active in England between 1660 and 1840. Intended for the use of historians and collectors, as well as anyone with an interest in antique furniture.

Edited by Geoffrey Beard, an English architectural historian, museum director, teacher and writer, and Christopher Gallard Gilbert, a British furniture historian and museum curator who was a founding member of the Furniture History Society.


CONDITION

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear to the extremities and minor sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot to the endpapers.

often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy

Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will

be described in the condition report under 'condition'

Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair

Fair - As with good only above but with other faults

leaving a compromised copy even after repair

Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
