This is an original press photo. Hussein - King of Jordan. Jerusalem. Rumors persisted in Jerusalem today that King Hussein (above) of Jordan has been assassinated. There was no confirmation of the reports from any official source. With the rumor of the assassination went another that the bulk of the Iraqi Army was crossing into Jordan. There has been a crisis inside Jordan for some time as factions have waged a political tug-o'-war to move the government from its middle of the road position between pro-western and nationalist groups. Photo measures 7 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 10-26-1956.
