This is a delightful vintage paper doll set titled A Wood Doll – Bunny, produced by Whitman Publishing Co. in the 1950s. The set features a stand-up doll made of “Tekwood”—a pressed wood pulp material trademarked by Whitman—and includes numerous printed outfits and accessories on heavy cardstock. The original green box cover is charmingly illustrated and identifies this set as “Bunny”, one of five girls available in the series.
The interior includes a full standing doll figure with attached name on the base, a fold-out sheet of printed outfits, and several additional clothing pieces—some cut out, some still intact. The clothes feature fun mid-century details like a “Junior Wildcats” sweater, maracas, skating gear, and school-themed props like a report card and a doll tub. The artwork is colorful and playful, clearly aimed at young girls of the era.
Box measures about 6.75" x 10.5". Overall condition is very good for its age. The lid has a child's name lightly written in pencil and a few small edge nicks. The contents show light handling wear but retain excellent color and completeness. A wonderful survivor from a nostalgic era of American toy design.
