This speaker was removed from a large PA system and it was blown In July 2007, I took it to my authorized JBL tech and we re-coned the speaker with a brand new JBL E130-8 cone. We used an 8 Ohm re-cone kit (C8RE130 from Delicate Electronics Inc.) to change this from 16 ohm to 8 ohms. JBL doesn’t manufacture D series cones for re-coning anymore so E series are the established cones to use. This speaker has never been used with the new re-cone. There is no coil rub or rips in the cone..
This speaker is designed to handle high power amplifiers and produce clean sound without breaking up or producing distortion which makes it excellent for bass or vocal reproduction, much less clear and clean sound for guitar and keyboards. This speaker is also extremely efficient and requires very little power to operate. The SPL (Sound Pressure Level) is much greater than conventional speakers due to it's very high power magnet structure and heat resistant edge- wound voice coil.
We use a Klein multimeter to show conductance on the voice coil integrity.

**It will serve the buyers purpose to have knowledge of installing these speakers. After correct speaker installation and amplifier power is supplied, you must increase the volume SLOWLY. If you do not, the speaker cones could shred and / or the voice coils could burn. If you try to run these speakers with too much power / volume we cannot guarantee that they will last. These speakers range in age and have not been used for a few decades. The cones are original if stated and are VERY FRAGILE. Please remember these are vintage pieces; we cannot guarantee that they will not need service or more parts in their future.
