Natural and untreated orange Fanta ( spessartite ) garnet cabochon originating from Mozambique. This weighs 13.25 CTS and has been cut into a large oval shape. The measurements are approximately 13.9 x 10.7 x 8.6 mm.

There are other types of orange garnet, but there is only one spessartite garnet, considered to be the most valuable and desired of all orange garnets. These are sometimes referred to as orange Mandarin or Fanta Garnets.

The stone has been polished to an exquisite sheen and displays beautiful optical effects. A firey internal glow can be seen throughout the piece, as best seen in the supplied video. The gem is fully transparent and has much better clarity than is often seen in untreated cabochons. There are some very slight natural inclusions found upon close examination, and can be considered SI clarity or close to eye clean.
