This slice was cut from a larger rock we collected at Mt Phillips Western Australia .

Rose quartz is a pink coloured variety of quartz. It is primarily formed through the cooling and crystallization of magma, usually in pegmatites, which are large, coarse-grained igneous rocks. It can also be found in hydrothermal veins, where mineral rich fluids precipitate out of the earth. Rose quartz gets its pink colour from microscopic inclusions of aligned silicate mineral fibers such as titanium, iron, or manganese.

The front is polished and the back is left rough.
