This is a scarcely seen bottle, actually it is the first and only one of them that we've ever seen. Many of the collectors of antique dental bottles are dentists, building small collections of quality antique dental bottles to display in their waiting rooms and offices and this is a prime example of just this sort of thing as it says so simply, "TOOTH POWDER". Antique dental bottles contained nothing more than a liquid or powdered tooth paste, yet they claimed that they had secret medicinal properties that, if used regularly, could cure any type of past or present disease of the mouth, gums, throat, even things that they still can't cure today. This In this instance, it was an iris root scented tooth powder, much like a Myrrh tooth powder. And it is a classic antique tooth powder bottle, a great example of the predecessor that we call ... toothpaste, check it out!
