Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece, one double-page colour plate, six colour plates, and thirty-four black-and-white plates. Collated complete.

The biography of William Heath Robinson, an English cartoonist, illustrator and artist who drew whimsically elaborate machines to achieve simple objectives. In the UK, his work was so well known that the term 'Heath Robinson Contraption' gained dictionary recognition around 1812.

Written by Langston Day, a British author and biographer.

With the compliments of the publisher issued by bookplate to the front pastedown and review notes in pencil.


CONDITION

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing and light fading to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine and panel edges. With the odd small mark and light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd pencil annotation or mark.
