What are Lift Kit?
Lift kits are aftermarket enhancements that you can install to lift your vehicle further off the ground.
With a suspension lift kit, you’ll lift up the entire vehicle, from the wheels/axles on up. Suspension lift kits for trucks are installed in a variety of ways, depending upon the vehicle and the kit, with the installation process more complex than with a body kit.
At its simplest, the kits lift up the vehicle. After installing a kit, you can add monster tires, which allow you to navigate off-road and on rough roads with much more finesse.

Front Installation

1.Take a measurement from the lock nut to the end of the bolt. You’ll need this measurement so that once you remove the key and the bar, you’ll be able to set it back.
2.Install the c-clamp torsion bar removal tool by screwing it in by hand. Ensure that the index marks are properly lined up.
3.Using an impact gun, relieve the tension that is on the torsion key. Make sure the lock nut and adjusting screw are both loose.
4.Remove the adjusting screw. For those in the Rust Belt, use some penetrating oil or lubricant ahead of time to aid in removal. Also remove the lock nut.
5.Relieve the tension on the torsion key removal tool using an impact gun.
6.With the tension off of the torsion key removal tool, push out the torsion bar toward the front of the vehicle. The key will drop out; you can then compare the keys to make sure you’re putting an oversized one in there. If it is rusted in place, you may need to take an air hammer to the back of the torsion bar to loosen it from the key.
7.Remove the torsion key. Grab torsion bar and slide it forward until the key comes loose and you’re able to remove it. Be sure to hold the key while doing this. Set the key aside.
8.Slide the torsion bar back into place.
9.Attach the torsion key, sliding it into place so that it is at the same angle that it was originally in.
10.Use the torsion key installation and removal tool to help you get the key in place. Place the tool on the key, getting the index point in place. Screw the tool in by hand. Tighten it with an impact gun.
11.Check to see if you have enough clearance to slide the lock nut into place; continue to adjust until you can get the nut into place.
12.Screw in the adjusting bolt by hand and then torque it with the impact gun.
13.Remove the torsion key install tool using an impact gun.
14.Measure the distance from the lock nut to the end of the bolt to ensure that it matches the measurement that you took in step 1 of the removing the torsion bar key procedure.

Rear Installation

1.Loosen the lug nuts and jack the truck up.

2.Put jackstands under the frame as far rear and high as possible.

3.Support the axle with a floor jack under the rear differential.

4.Remove rear tires.

5.Unbolt the lower shock bolt.

6.Unbolt the sway bar from the axle bracket.

7.Lower the rear axle.

8.The coils should be loose, but not loose enough to pull out.

9.Jack up one side of the axle forcing the other side to drop even closer to the ground.

10.Remove the coil.

11.Place spacer on top of the lower coil bucket.

12.Put coil back into place(forcefully)

13.Repeat on opposite side.

14.Jack the axle up from the differential to align the shocks and reinstall bolts.

15.Reinstall the sway bar bolts.

16.Remove jackstands.

17.Lower truck to the ground.

18.Retighten lug nuts.

19.It is recommended to take your vehicle to an alignment shop to have it realigned.
