On offer, we have an original etching by California artist Arthur Millier. It is signed "Arthur Millier" and titled "Business Alley" in pencil below the etching. This shows a man hiding in the shadows of an alley. On off white artist's paper, this measures 11 1/2" X 9" with the image 8 1/2" X 6 1/2".
About the artist: Arthur Henry Thomas Millier (1893-1975) was a British born American painter, etcher, printmaker and art critic. He was the art critic for the Los Angeles Times from 1926 to 1958. His works are in many permanent collections of museums.
This is in excellent condition. The print is bold, clean and clear with a nice imprint. The back has tape at the top from where it was once in a matte. There is a watermark on the left margin "Hand" and a small round blind stamp. The bottom right corner has a smudge. This has been handled and has a few light wrinkles, but no creases. As I am not an expert on art, please see my photographs for more description.
This is from my friend who collects everything and is starting to part with a few of his treasures. You may enjoy viewing the other Arthur Millier etchings I have listed at this time.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
