Oil; This is a design of Ocean Drilling and Exploration Company's drilling craft under construction in Hiroshima, Japan. Called the Ocean Prospector, it will be a self-propelled semi-submersible drilling vessel and will be put to use in late 1970 or early 1971. Unlike other overwater drilling rigs, Ocean Prospector will contain its own propulsion system, thus eliminating towing operations. Overall length will be just over 344 feet with a beam measuring 263 feet. Crew quarters will accommodate 75 men. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo Is dated 1970.
