STOP MAGAZINE # 4 1991 - Super, super rare. STOP was a short lived underground fashion magazine from the early 1990’s New York City scene. Think of this as influencers before the internet. These were the cool kids in New York City strutting their stuff. That’s a 19 year old Sofia Coppola on the cover. She later worked with Kim Gordon's X Girl indie fashion label and then founded her own before becoming famous as a film director. A few other people get name checked before they were famous, like a young Wes Anderson. There’s illustrations by Todd Oldham and Betsey Johnson. I call this a magazine because it’s big and thick but it’s sort of like a fashion zine that managed to get some advertisement to pay for the fancy printing.
