I use new jewelry components and build a strong, custom magnetic clasp. Magnets are very strong and will securely hold to your attire.  One magnet is adhered to the jewel and another is supplied to hold in place (magnets on both sides of fabric).  Place fabric between the jeweled magnet and the back magnet.
