The Art Box was Damaged due to a water pipe that broke in my home. I have my Collection Stored in two closets. Some are in bins and others are on shelves. I store them until I can free up space to display them or eventually sell them off. Unfortunately, due to the pipe breaking a small portion of my collectibles got wet. I inspected all the collectibles that was affect by the water.
I bought it when it was released but never displayed it. The Art box got damaged as it soaked up some water. The Styrofoam encasing this statue got wet on one side. So I opened it to inspect the Statue and all the parts. Which for Batman includes 2 interchangeable left hands, one holding a Medieval Mace and one holding a Sub-Machine Gun. There’s also a chain which goes attached to his right hand, which then attaches to the 3 Minion Robins. I left the two parts of the Styrofoam to air dry for 48 hrs to make sure the one side that was wet dried up entirely and didn’t have a smell. It was a clean running water pipe that broke. But I want to be certain before I put the statue back in the foam. I’m a collector myself so I want my collections to be in the best shape. After checking statue and seeing everything was in great shape I put it back in the Styrofoam, taped it shut and put a label on the foam to know which statue is inside as it no longer has the Art box. Luckily, only the Art box was destroyed. It’s been sitting in my collection closet again since. I will be posting water affected & non-affected collectibles as I’m looking to reduce my collection significantly. I opened it today to take pictures and I’m happy to report, the statue still looks new and no smell on either just like when I inspected and repackaged it four months ago.
