      The fuel pump is an important component of the automotive fuel system. Its main function is to suck gasoline out of the tank and press it into the float chamber of the carburetor through pipes and gasoline filters to ensure the normal operation of the engine.

    Specifically, the function of the fuel pump includes:

    • Provide a stable fuel supply. The fuel pump draws gasoline from the fuel tank and presses it into the fuel supply pipe to ensure a stable fuel supply for the engine during operation.
    • Establish and maintain fuel pressure. The fuel pump works in conjunction with the fuel pressure regulator to establish and maintain a certain fuel pressure to ensure smooth flow of fuel into the engine.
    • Avoid accidental ignition. When the engine stops running and the ignition switch is still in the ON position, the HFM-SFI control module will turn off the power to the fuel pump to avoid accidental ignition.
