Description
------ Antique, handmade, coin sorting tray or insert, from a late 19th century/early 20th century cash register or a mercantile or general store money drawer. Nicely carved from one piece of (likely walnut) hardwood. It has six compartments - all are smoothly rounded for easy/fast retrieval of coinage.

  • This now makes a neat desk sorter or jewelry tray or trinket or accessory valet, sewing cubby, etc.
  • It’s quite sculptural with its serpentine curves.
  • Original surface is as-found and may benefit from some wood oil or a bit of polish - I’ve left it as I found it.
  • Found in a New Jersey estate, by me, in 1991.
  • Shown with some sewing bits and clips, just for scale - these are not included.
Size
  • 15.25” long x 7.75” wide X 1.75” tall, overall approx.
  • Weighs 1.975 pounds on my scale, approx
  • Shown with a ruler and various objects, for scale - ruler and objects are NOT included
