The 328 GTB was released in 1985 as the successor to the 308 series. While Pininfarina's basic style was similar to the 308, various parts were refined, and the engine, based on the 308, was enlarged to 3.2 liters.
The 328 was the last car to feature the traditional transverse mid-engine layout, and it remains a popular model to this day.
